An der Schwemm
The world premiere of An der Schwemm took place on 21 April 1922 at the Pôle Nord, an entertainment establishment in the Hotel Brosius in Luxembourg City. Batty Weber (1860-1940) had provided the composer Lou Koster (1889-1973) with a libretto for this one-act operetta. The first reviews appeared the day after the premiere in the Luxemburger Zeitung, in the Escher Tageblatt and on the front page of L’Indépendance luxembourgeoise, confirming a large audience and bearing witness to the success of the work.
